The UAE ATS-ready CV for accountants moving from India
UAE finance teams and the recruiters who staff them screen accounting CVs for IFRS, VAT and FTA experience before a controller reads them. An India CV built around Indian GAAP or US GAAP, GST, and Tally alone — with no visa line — misses the exact terms the Gulf market matches on. Here is how to reframe it for a Dubai or Abu Dhabi finance search.

Why accountant CVs from India get filtered in the UAE
Wrong reporting framework named
UAE companies report under IFRS, not US GAAP or Indian GAAP. A CV that leads with the wrong framework fails the keyword match and signals a re-training cost. State 'IFRS' explicitly and map your experience across to it — recruiters scan for it in the first pass.
No UAE VAT, FTA or corporate-tax signal
UAE VAT (5%, since 2018) and the newer federal corporate tax are top screening terms, administered through the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). If your background is Indian GST, translate the transferable skill and name 'UAE VAT', 'FTA filing' and 'VAT return' — don't leave the recruiter guessing whether you can file locally.
ERP and software listed for the Indian market only
Name the tools UAE finance teams actually run: SAP, Oracle Financials and Microsoft Dynamics in larger firms, Tally, Zoho Books and QuickBooks across Gulf SMEs. 'Accounting software' is invisible to an ATS — list the exact packages the posting asks for.
Qualification unclear, plus missing visa and notice
State your credential precisely — CA (India), ACCA, CPA or CMA — since UAE employers weigh recognised qualifications. Then add current visa status and notice period as plain text near the top, keep to 1–2 pages, and move any photo/nationality header off the ATS upload so contact details parse cleanly.

Accountant CV FAQ (India → UAE)
- I know Indian GAAP and GST — does that transfer to the UAE?
- The skills transfer, but the labels don't. UAE firms report under IFRS and administer VAT and corporate tax through the FTA, so map your Indian GAAP experience to IFRS and your GST work to UAE VAT explicitly on the CV rather than leaving the recruiter to assume it.
- Is my Indian CA qualification recognised in the UAE?
- Indian CA is respected by many UAE employers, and ACCA, CPA and CMA are widely sought. State your exact credential; some finance roles list a specific qualification, so mirror the one the posting names if you hold it.
- Do I need prior UAE VAT experience to be shortlisted?
- It's a strong advantage and a common keyword filter. If you don't have direct UAE VAT experience, foreground transferable indirect-tax and IFRS work and name the FTA/VAT terms so the ATS still matches you.
